Hair Loss
40 MILLION+ women in the U.S. live with thinning and hair loss.
As we age, we expect wrinkles to crop up, skin to sag and our bodies to change,
BUT LOSE OUR HAIR???
Thinning of the hair is synonymous with aging, and occurs in virtually everyone,
It’s normal to lose anywhere from 50 to 100 strands of hair every day. But genetics,
Hair care, hormones changes within the body and stress can cause you to experience major hair loss. Although female hair loss does not usually result in complete baldness (as it can in men), it can be a traumatic and an emotionally painful experience.
THE CAUSES AND SOLUTIONS FOR HAIR LOSS
Temporary hair loss
Temporary hair loss is brought on by medical conditions, stress, drastic changes in the body caused by dieting, emotions, hormones, or even by the way you style or care for your hair.
It’s important to have your doctor identify the underlying cause of your hair loss so that it can be properly treated. Hair loss that could have been merely temporary may last longer as result of an incorrect diagnosis.
Cause 1; HORMONES
One of the most common causes of temporary hair loss is a change in hormone levels caused by birth control, pregnancy or menopause. Normally, a hair grows out of the follicle for three years, falls out and a new hair develops in its place. “When starting or stopping birth control, after having a baby or when experiencing menopause, many women experience changes in their hair. The hormonal changes in the body send a shock to the system, which shifts growing hairs into the resting (telogen) phase.
This results in a temporary increase in hair shedding. Hair that is lost is eventually replaced with new healthy ones”, hair will return to its normal rate of growing or shedding in six months to a year.
Cause 2; STRESS
Many women who experience hair loss blame it on stress, but truth be told, only a small percentage of incidents are actually induced by EMOTIONAL STRESS.
“a one time, life altering event like death or divorce is stress that can cause hair loss, not everyday stresses like your job. It can take anywhere from two to six months for shedding to begin and even longer for shedding to normalize”. In order to determine stress as the primary cause of hair loss, you have to make sure there are no other underlying conditions that can be triggering the hair loss”.
Cause 3: MEDICAL CONDITIONS
Medical conditions can attribute to temporary hair loss.
Conditions like anemia and hypothyroidism, as well as some medications and treatments (such as chemotherapy), can accelerate hair loss or even be the primary cause of hair loss. Women who suffer from thyroid disorders tend to lose hair because of a decreased metabolism in the scalp follicles, which prompts the entire hair to prematurely fall out.
Another medical cause of hair loss is alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder that forces the body to form antibodies against the hair follicles, resulting in smooth, circular patches of hair loss. Alopecia areata which is believed to be triggered by high fever, illness, infection or trauma can progress and cause total hair loss from the entire scalps and body. Treatments like cortisone injections may be recommended, but in most cases the hair will begin to grow again on its own after several months.
Cause 4: DIET
If you’re trying to lose weight, crash dieting is not only risky to your health it has been linded to temporary hair loss. Diets that contain a daily intake of less than 1,200 calories can send the body into a malnourished state. The reduced caloric consumption forces the body to redirect proteins an essential nutrient to major organs, in turn shutting down the production of new hair. The healthy, growing hairs go into a sudden resting state, causing clumps of hair to fall out. “good diet and nutrition is necessary in a holistic way in maintaining the health of all body structures and organs. The average person with a reasonably nutritious diet should not need additional supplements to sustain healthy hair”. Low protein, zinc and iron and biotin are the most common culprits of hair loss.
Cause 5: STYLING/PRODUCTS
Keeping up with the latest trends and hairstyles means exposing your locks to potential breakage. Wearing your hair in exceptionally tight buns, braids, updos and ponytails can contribute to traction alopecia, which is a common type of hair loss caused by trauma to the hair follicles from pulling hair too tightly. Traction alopecia must be diagnosed early on because if not, over time it can damage the hair follicle, causing it to be incapable of growing a healthy hair.
Harsh ingredients found in styling products like gels n sprays, as well as chemicals in treatments such as colorants, strengtheners and perms can potentially damage the hair follicle and promote hair loss. This is not to be confused with breakage caused by styling techniques, which is often mistaken for hair loss because of the resulting thinner mane. A lot of styling products, like thick gels and strong sprays, contain abrasive ingredients such as sulfates and sodium which over time will dry out and damage the hair prompting it to break when heat and styling tools are used.
Using product with protein to protect hair. Color treated hair wash hair only two or three times a week to preserve its integrity.
Suggested solutions-
- liquid B-12
- Alpha lipoid acid. (cap)
- Biotin 5mg 3 times a day. (cap)
- Biotin shampoo and conditioner.
- Home made maske-2eggs 2oz virgin olive oil (live on for 3ours), wash of shampoo as normal (recommend ones a month).
- Apply conditioner only to ends not to scalp.
PERMANENT HAIR LOSS
Most women who experience permanent hair loss (usually in mid to late 40s) first see symptoms such as a wider hair part and a receding or thinning hairline during or after menopause.
A lot of women who have thick hair all of their life, and when they reach the pre menopausal stage they lose 10 to 20 percent of it.
The resulting hair loss can manifest itself in one or all of the following ways:
Thinning hair on the top of the head, thinning hair and patches of hair loss, of hair loss that runs from the front of the scalp to the middle of the scalp. Un like man, who usually experience total hair loss, woman who suffer from extreme hair loss usually see patches of thinning hair or small sections of baldness.
GENETICS
Permanente hair loss is experienced by nearly one third of American woman and is almost always caused by genetic predisposition. But just because your father or brother is bald or lost his hair at an early age doesn’t necessarily mean that you will experience hair loss in the same way.
Androgenetic alopecia, known for female pattern baldness is caused by a genetic component and hormonal component. “Hormones most likely play a role in female hair thinning and hair loss, we still don’t know exactly which hormones are responsible and how…
I WILL RECOMMEND DOING A HORMONE PROFILING BY YOUR DR. OR INDOCRONOLOGIEST THE TEST COUNT HORMONES AND YOUR DR. CAN IDENTIFIY THE CHAINGE IN HORMONES EARLY ENOTH TO KNOW HOW TO TREAT IT.
Cancer Update
Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion.
When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.
Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person’s lifetime.
When the person’s immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.
When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.
To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.
Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.
Radiation while destroying Cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.
Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.
When the body had too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation, the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.
Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.
An affective way to battle cancer is to STARVE the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.
CANCER CELLS FEEDS ON;
- Sugar is cancer feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like nutra sweet, equal, spoonful, etc are made with aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is bragg’s aminos or sea salt.
- Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being starved.
- Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.
- A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish an enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).
- Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer fighting properties. Water best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.
Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup.
Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, florescence, essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EF As etc.) to enable the body’s own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body’s normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.
Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit.
A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.
Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.
CANCER UP DATE FROM JOHN HOPKINS HOSPITAL
- No plastic containers in micro.
- No water bottles in freezer.
- No plastic wrap in microwave.
- No heating our food in microwave using plastic containers. (applies to foods that contain fat).
Plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body.
RECOMMEND
Using glass, such as corning ware, pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc. should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn’t bad but you don’t know what is in the paper. It’s just safer to use tempered glass, corning ware, etc. also plastic wtap, such as saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap an drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.
THIS IS FOR ALL THE IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE.

What is IPL hair removal?
Removal of unwanted hair is achieved with
the Broadband Intense Pulsed Light (IPL).
Highly controlled flashes of light are selectively
absorbed by hair-filled follicles lying below the
surface of the skin. The absorbed light heats the
hair, which damages or destroys the regrowth
potential of the follicle, all without damaging the
surrounding tissue.

Your
Questions
How many hair removal treatments will I need?
The number of treatments you may
require depends on a number of factors.
First is the area you wish to have treated
and its hair density. The next important
consideration is where your hair is in its
three stage growth cycle. Hair removal
can only be effective when hair is in its
growth stage. Approximately 1/3 of your
hair is in the growth stage at any time.
Therefore, you must have between three
and five treatments, once every forty five days, to treat all the hair during the growth phase.
Am I a good candidate
for IPL technology?
If your hair is brown or black you are
a good candidate. Blonde hair can be
more difficult to remove.
Will it hurt?
You will feel a warm sensation at the
moment of the flash with very little
discomfort.
When am I going
to see results?
Normally you should begin to see results
after the first two sessions.
What are the
contraindications? Some medications should be avoided
and no sun tanning 15 days prior and
after the procedure.
